Storytelling and music with Chitra

Chitra Soundar is an Indian-born British writer and storyteller. Having grown up on a mix of Indian myths to western classics she now strives to bring her cultural eclectic mix to a new generation of reader through her own Farmer Falgu series of books.

Chitra’s workshops will enthrall young readers, as she introduces them to the sights and sounds of rural India, through the eyes of our charming and good humoured hero Farmer Falgu. Using an interactive slideshow, props from the story and traditional Indian instruments, that the children will be encouraged to join in with, they will leave having experienced just a small sample of what a rich and vibrant culture India has to offer. The sessions will also include an opportunity for the children to create their our Farmer Falgu story through creative writing and drawing.
