Weave a polka-dot story with Laurel Remington

Laurel Remington is the author of the acclaimed Secret Cooking Club series – called ‘Jacqueline Wilson for the Bake Off generation’ by The Times – the first of which won the 2016 Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition. Laurel’s new book is a fresh, authentic and totally addictive novel about how real makeovers go so much deeper than clothes.

Laurel is experienced at events, having visited schools around the publication of her two Secret Cooking Club books. This will be a fun, interactive and engaging event with a big audience creative writing exercise to spark pupils’ imaginations (‘designing a story’ through the analogy of creating a polka-dot dress). Laurel will also talk about her inspiration behind the book, introduce the audience to her characters, and read a snippet from her story.
